We are firm believers that objectives should be observable, measurable, and realistic. At Koncept, we scour
the ever-changing terrains of development to ensure that we are giving our clients the best most efficient up-
to-date information available. In doing so we’ve created a basic plan of action for organizations to grow
increase their revenue through our proven method of: Courting the Donor.
Let’s first examine what this means in laymens terms.
v. court·ed, court·ing, courts
1. To attempt to gain; seek: a. To behave so as to invite or incur: b. To try to gain the love or affections of,
especially to seek to marry: c To attempt to gain the favor of by attention or flattery: d. to woo.
Who are donors?
Donors are people. Regular people. Regular people that give to causes and efforts that they support.
Donors are not odd shaped withdrawal machines. They are not disaster relief moguls. They are not kiss it
with their pockets and make it ALL better persons. Donors are people and most people are not
wealthy. In fact, According to Giving USA, a report compiled annually by the American Association of
Fundraising Counsel, the greatest portion of charitable giving, $222.89 billion, was given by individuals or
household donors. In 2006, gifts from individuals represented 76 percent of all contributed dollars.
With those types of numbers hailing consistently throughout numerous studies yearly, it is safe to say that
our fundraising efforts should work adjacently. Hence, my theory of Courting the Donor. It’s quite
simple. It simply means to build solid relationships with people so that they feel good about whatever
investments they make to your organization.
In a throttled economy such as ours today, donors are really scrutinizing their giving. The number of
registered charities, foundations and non-profits are growing exponentially, thus curving and shaping the
face of philanthropy. Knowing this, fundraising and development for an organization has to be methodical,
intentional, and informed.
This is where Koncept comes in. If you don’t invest in anything else, fundraising for your
organization HAS to make the roster of important things to do.
"Fund raising consulting services are an added expense, but the experts will usually be worth their pay. These
people will probably be able to bring in enough money to pay their salary. These experts will also be able to
save time and energy. They will have enough experience to know the best fund raising activity for the target
group. These will save the local organizers the time that it takes to research the possible fund raising
activities. They will also have great experience in the field so their choices will probably be the most effective
for the goals of the group. Fund raising consulting organizations will be a great resource for groups in need of
additional money." - Please read the entire article http://www.good-fundraising-ideas.com/fund-raising-

Sample 5-step action plan to increase and organization’s funding
Goals and Objectives: The What
1. Establish and cultivate relationships with existing donors and lapsed donors
2. Implement concepts presented in current fundraising model to ensure the production of monetary and
non-monetary results
3. Organize a fundraising committee where roles are defined and accountability is reiterated
4. Design initiatives that focus on why donors don't give as oppose to why they do. Address those reasons
individually and collaborate with programming committee to use existing resources to create new ones that
transform the occasional giver into an avid donor.
5. Increase organization visibility through a systematic community outreach initiative designed to attract
"the marginalized voices" our new mission speaks about.

Fundraising Philosophy
"I believe in order to raise money, you have to touch hearts and in that lays a creative science to an even more creative art. I don't proclaim to know all but I do proclaim to be willing to delve beyond the surface of normalcy to solve this revolving issue of suppression and exclusionary thought." – Kerline Astre
